Emily Baker
Board Director
Emily Baker is a General Board Member at the Labrador West Status of Women, where she has been an active member since 2024. With a wealth of experience in mental health and addictions, Emily brings expertise in trauma-informed care, harm-reduction strategies, and group-based recovery support, helping to guide and shape the direction of the organization.
In their professional career, Emily has held crisis intervention and coordinator positions in addition to counselling. Emily also owns a private practice offering mental health and addictions services. Through these positions, Emily has developed a strong background in clinical counselling incorporating evidence-based practices including somatic therapy and cognitive behavioural therapies. She is passionate about equity, equality, advocacy, and culturally inclusive and LGBTQIA2+ affirming care and is dedicated to contributing to the Labrador West Status of Women’s vision and goals.
Outside of her professional work, Emily enjoys spending time with her partner and their animals, reading, and learning new things. Emily is committed to making mental health and supportive services more accessible and fostering a welcoming community for women and gender-diverse people.
