- “In a remote and rural community like ours, resources can be limited, and it can sometimes feel as though we are not making the progress we hope for. However, I am determined to advocate for those who may feel voiceless or overlooked. I want to help build a network of support and create opportunities for growth and empowerment for all women in our community. My goal is to ensure that every individual has access to the tools, information, and support they need to succeed, and to inspire change through knowledge and collective action.” — Val
Val is a Certified Canadian Counsellor and has spent the last five years offering mental health services in Labrador West. She also brings extensive experience working with local community organizations, including Hope Haven Women’s Shelter, the Emergency Housing Shelter, and the Public Libraries, highlighting her deep commitment to community outreach and collaboration.
